nice to meet you.
// wedding-obsessed photographer + nap enthusiast + dog mama + ice cream addict.
I’m Emily, the founder of Anna Delores Photography; no, my name isn’t “Anna,” but you wouldn’t be the first to make that assumption. The name “Anna Delores” comes from my maternal great-grandmother (“Anna”) and my paternal grandmother (“Delores”).
I’m here because I’m more than a little obsessed with both the technical properties and artistic underpinnings of photography. It’s difficult for me to go anywhere without a camera; I never lose the urge to transform human experiences into meaningful works of art.
Your wedding is a big deal, and the day itself will go by faster than you can imagine. Your wedding photography collection should not only help you remember the aesthetic details of the day; it should also transport you back to the way you felt. The anticipation of getting ready, the surreal moment of exchanging vows, the incomparable joy of partying with all the people you love in one place. The day itself is fleeting, but photography is a powerful memory-keeper. It’s a time machine. Creating imagery that recalls the emotional experience of your wedding day is what drives my passion for fine art, documentary-style photography.
At Anna Delores Photography, we love pretty details like fancy linens and chair rentals and deliberately mismatched table settings, but the one element of your wedding day that you get to take with you is the photography (and each other, duh). And trust me, we’ll photograph the heck out of your lovely little details — we adore them, and we know you spent a lot of time making tons of choices to curate your wedding (food, flowers, venue, invitations…!). But we want you to relax and enjoy your wedding day instead of fretting the details (and maybe smash cake in each other’s faces). The most beautiful images we create are the ones when you are in the moment together and focused on the magic of this incredibly special day.
I also believe that a genuine connection with your wedding photographer can be a crucial component of relaxing in front of the camera (and thus creating conditions for stunning wedding imagery), so here are some tidbits about me, just to get us started.
We’ve already established that I love weddings, but you should also know that I am especially giddy for overgrown gardens, historic spaces, vineyards, and unique estate venues. If your space is either totally non-traditional OR surrounded by stunning scenery, I’m IN.
I have a serious weakness for beautiful shoes. Brides AND grooms, please wear rad shoes on your wedding day so I can photograph them!
I am WAY into floral design. I never know what I’m talking about, but blooms in distinctive color palettes with lots of organic greenery? Yes, please. I especially love peonies and Icelandic poppies and ranunculus. And if your venue (or floral design) has bougainvillea, I can’t promise I won’t scream with delight.
I am drawn to a mix of Anthropologie + modern bohemian + flea market vintage + Kate Spade.
I take more naps than anyone I know.
I love french fries. And ice cream. Sometimes together. Wendy’s french fries + chocolate Frosty = my jam.
I’m obsessed with the city of Paris. If you are getting married in Paris, call me RIGHT NOW and we will work it out.
