I just returned from WPPI in Las Vegas. I almost didn’t attend this year, and I’m so glad that Alyssa and Brooke convinced me to change my mind. I saw some old friends, made a few new ones, checked out the latest goodies from everything photo- and wedding-related (really, EVERYTHING you could possibly imagine), and listened to a bunch of really talented wedding photographers share their wisdom. My favorites were Kirsten Lewis, Two Mann Studios, and Sam Hurd. So much talent and some wonderfully fresh perspectives on feeling inspired, motivated, and empowered to do great work.
We also detoured a bit en route to MGM Grand, where the conference was hosted. After a visit to Charlie Brown Farms and another stop to grab some lunch, we pulled onto a completely nondescript dirt path to take some portraits in the middle of the desert. I didn’t do the best job of taking photos for the rest of the trip (learning is distracting and overwhelming!), but here are my favorites from the first leg of our journey, and a few from the very end (we caught the sunset in Fillmore on the drive home).
And thanks to A + B for grabbing some shots of me, too. :)
Last, but not least, Alyssa made this video of our adventures. She meant it to be longer, but then Vegas + the conference happened. You know how it goes. And please check out the makers of the song for the video: “Ol’ Sixty Three” by Drunk as Grandpa.
