Any day I get to collaborate with Vanessa Noel Events, Stella Bloom Designs, and MJB Cakes is a damn good day. Whispering Rose Ranch is a relatively new wedding venue and it was delightful to visit and flex our creative Santa Ynez wedding photography muscles a bit.
Vanessa had a terra cotta chiminea that had broken after years of use, but she just couldn’t part with it (though she wasn’t sure what kept her holding on). So she held on to the fragments and knew she’d find a great way to use them eventually. Aaaaand our inspiration shoot was born! Vanessa was inspired by the aged texture and layers of color in the broken shards and decided to add another element by gold leafing the pieces for a hint of metallic. The concept behind this shoot was to layer warm tones without a lot of color contrast, but with multiple textures.
We’re also on 100 Layer Cake today! And here is my own personal collection of favorites.
